No apology

Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo had accused Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, Selangor Menteri Besar of having misused state funds to pay maintenance fee of his personal car and for the purchase of Hari Raya Aidiladha cattle for his Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary constituency.

He stated that he will not apologise to Khalid because he was merely doing his duty as an opposition leader by "revealing certain misdeeds."

Meanwhile, Sankara N. Nair Khalid's lawyer said in a press conference that the Menteri Besar has given seven days to Dr Mohd Khir to retract his recent statements or face legal action.

"Why should I apologise? He (Khalid) is the one who owes an apology and explanation to the people on the allegations against him," he told reporters here on Thursday.

“We hope the people will understand that it is not a personal attack but the duty of an opposition leader.

“It is not a problem if he wants to sue because I have already been sued by (Selangor Exco) Ronnie Liu and Teresa Kok,” he said.

“That’s why I did not report him (Khalid) to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission or the police. I just want him to correct any wrongdoing,” he said.
